Coolant Level Sensor and Windshield Fluid Level Sensor going off at the same time!

After having the passenger SAM replaced at the dealer, both the Coolant and Windshield fluid censors are illuminating at the same time. I thought at first a sensor was bad, but I replaced the windshield wiper sensor and checked the ohms of both and they are normal. 174 and 110 ohms, respectively. This means I have an open circuit somewhere in the wiring. According to some posts I found, there are 3 wires for these 2 circuits in series which connect back to the passenger SAM. I am wondering if the 3 wires below could be relevant. Apparently they were not reconnected after the SAM replacement and I am unsure why but they sure are suspect.

I would measure their combined resistance at the connector which plugs into the bottom of the passenger-side SAM. You'll likely need a schematic to do that. If you don't have the "Starfinder" application which includes schematics for most modern M-Bs and which comes with Star Diagnosis, then you can search the 'Net for a "Starfinder 2016" download.

Thanks that's exactly what I needed to know. I just dropped off car at dealer's work shop to replace SBC and they should fix the sensor issue too since it appears to be due to SAM replacement. The service manager is great he's watching the progress. I think he was mechanic for 30 years.

I spoke with my service rep and the coolant level sensor in SDS was responding OK. So they assumed (incorrectly) it was the washer sensor, not their labor. Since coolant level sensor shares a common ground with windshield fluid sensor, it seems the correct interpretation of data is that positive wire from windshield sensor to SAM was left open after the replacement procedure. On another note, I just learned I *really* need to buy STARS. The MBII is good for some basic things but not for this.

This is resolved. It was an open positive wire from the windshield fluid sensor to the passenger SAM.
