SL/R230: Windshield washer fluid

Windshield washer fluid
I just replaced the headlamp washer nozzles on my SL. I believe that they failed because the previous owner used fresh water or summer washer fluid in the system and the nozzles frose and cracked. Now I am looking for a washer fluid that will not freeze and is compatible with the system.
I first filled the system with Rains-x which is good to -25 degrees F. Then I read that Rain-s will damage the fluid level sensor in the reservoir so I drained the Rain-x and filled it with Prestone 3-in-1 washer fluid. After doing this it occurs to me that the Prestone is orange in color like the Rain-x and may be the same solution. Nothing is simple.
Does anyone use the Prestone 3-in-one? What do you guys use in freezing climates?

I just received a response from Prestone tech support and they tell me that the orange Prestone "All Weather 3-in-1" washer fluid is tested and safe to use in all vehicles including Mercedes Benz. He told me that Prestone does not use the viscous gel-like ingredient that Rain-X uses to make rain bead up on the windshield.
