Is there a way to make the instrument cluster brighter? I have it turned all the way up for night driving but can't read it very well during day light.
I had the same issue with dim clusters, you gotta clean out the sensors on the windshield maybe, the car thinks it's nighttime all the time and dim the gauges.
Hi, I've been having this issue with my 2007 The windshield was recently replaced. Everything else associated with the windshield sensor module (intermittent wipers, auto headlights) work fine. Today, while sitting at a red light, I reached to see if the adjustment knob was turned all the way up.... and as my hand approached the knob, the cluster displays got bright! Move my hand back, dim. Move it close, bright. moving my hand around, it seems the change occurs only when my hand is near the rest/dimmer knob. No change to the sunlight on the windshield during all this. Does anyone know for sure if the auto dimmer is linked to the windshield sensor, or does it have its own sensor? Any input welcome!

OK, so I do believe the change in brightness is due to sunlight reflecting off the back of my hand, but it is reflecting into the cluster,not the Comand. I found this phot. and I think the sensor is directly above the reset/dimmer control:
I know this is an older thread, but did you ever get this resolved? I have the same issue/s: instrument lights always dim and hardly readable, and "Light Sensor Drive to Workshop" error message.
Of the two, the dim panel is most important to me.
