Hey all - so I just got my new LED license plate from the company Reviver. In California we're allowed to have LED license plates now, so I assume it's a trend that will continue. A mutual friend works there so I got to be one of their first users. First one in the state with one on an SL. wooot

Anyways - The installer said everyone with a Tesla is getting them (expected ha). This thing is pretty badass and just thought i'd post some pics of how it looks since it's definitely a looker on the road. Valet always keeps it parked out front. It's kind of like an amazon kindle type of material. Can change the background from white to black. Can also do a selection of a bunch of different messages on the bottom, so of course i went with comedy.

Friend says in the future they may change it so that people can do custom stuff, but right now it's a liability (of course - i would probably put something dumb asap).

Installation - a tech comes out to you and puts a tiny *** hole in your trunk (boo) but the install is MEGA clean and there's no evidence of wires or anything, the guy is pretty pro. Friend said they are working on future version that wont require drilling a hole, so that's sick.

I expect this plate will probably get stolen asap. JK,...but probably...

Benefits - It's connected via GPS, so if anyone steals my car it's auto updated with the location so that's cool. Lights up at night, pretty clean looking. Also you can do all your future DMV registrations online for this so no need to go into the DMV. Everything is over the air software updates - you just hold the back button for 5 seconds and it connects with server to make changes. Comes with an app, so if you want to change color/messages you just do it on there and update over server and it changes the plate right in front of you.

also i changed my plate to vanity plate (AM6 - how no one had that already i will have no idea) - and they updated it over the air after a few days since i guess they are hooked up to the DMV database, so it's all automatic.

This looks very cool. Can you take a picture at night? Is it like an LCD panel, the entire surface being like a screen? How much?
