Welcome to the forum! Please take a moment to visit the User Control Panel and update your profile to include your car model and year, and your location (at least country). This information will then appear below your name and avatar on the left side panel next to each post you make. This will greatly help others to give you better information. If you are using the mobile version of the site, you will need to switch to the "full" version to get to the User Control Panel.
To answer your questions, yes, but not easily. The flaps must be operated and that's best done with SDS:

THis is the "manual close" document, but opening would be much the same, just reverse the appropriate steps:

And the flaps:

I did the manual close, but manual open did not work for me. Never could figure why, but roof did not get all the way down in the trunk and rear shelf never got in the horizontal position. I gave up and closed the roof.

A friend and I struggled with lowering the top on his car a couple of weeks ago. I think it is because the "Easy Pack" hydraulic cylinders are able to freely move and are not supporting the roof mechanism in their extended position.

On a separate matter, if your Dell D630 has a WiFi adapter, then I suggest you open Windows XP Control Panel and disable it. Last week I did this on my PC, and now XENTRY and DAS both open much, much quicker.

Hi Rudney, where are you looking for those photos with images that explain with doing tasks in Mercedes SL? I would like to have that information to assemble and disassemble some parts of my car. Thank you

Most all of my docs and photos that I keep on my website come from SDS.

Thanks Rudeney, unfortunately I don't have any diagnostic machine and I can't have that kind of documents.
