I have a current cingular account but the dealer wants me to activate a verizon account in order to use the car phone. How can I use my v60 through cingular in my SL?

Verizon is a CDMA carrier, and Cingular is TDMA. A CDMA phone will not work with Cingular, and if you dealer wants to sign you up with Verizon, you must have a CDMA phone.

Asked the dealer if you can return the phone and wait for the V600 GSM phone. I had the same problem. I could not get a new service plan for cinguar/verizon on the CDMA/TDMA phones in my area. Everything here is GSM. The dealer should have infromed you about the GSM phone. After I spoke to a manager at Cingular, I was offer a plan that cost a dollar a minute. So I decided to wait for the GSM phone.
I purchased the GSM phone in my SL500. It is a V600 phone. Right, now I am waiting for the phone to come out. I was supposed to get the phone in July but it got push back.
By the way, you will have to purchase a new phone if you go to a new carrier even with the GSM V600 phone. Verizon will use a different model of the V600 phone.

Dealer Wants You To Get Verizon Because The Cingular Phone Is On Back Order, And Has Been For Some Time, And If You Decide To Go The E-bay Route, Be Carefull As There Are People Who Are Selling Remanufactured (rebuilt) Benz Phones At Considerable Savings, And Touting Them As New.
How do I hook it up?? There is no phone hookup in the console

It is in the shallow center console. Have no ideal, dealer is installing it.
