SL550 trunk and window problem
Hi all, my friend has a 2008 SL550 that all of the sudden when he tries to put the top down it does a couple of strange things. The windows will not go down, but if you hold the button the top will complete the cycle with the windows up (corner windows go down). When the top is put up the windows will roll up at the end of the cycle so up but no down. Also the trunk will not open with the fob or handle over the number plate. If it is manually lifted it will close itself with the button. If you interrupt the trunk closing it will raise itself back open as it should. No lights on anywhere and no other indication of a problem. Anyone have any ideas on this one?

The front windows should drop approximately 4 mm if they are fully raised.
Clues to the cause of this anomaly would be observing how the windows respond when they are fully raised and a door is opened and also when the one-touch-raise feature is actuated from a window control switch.
