Steering Wheel and Command Unit Compatibly
I would like to know if it is possible to change my 2006 steering wheel with the round 2009-2011 version without any problems? Also, would a 2009-2011 version of the Command Center also work with my 2006? I just like the styling of the wheel better (especially the sports version) and I like the graphics on the Command Unit better, including the round buttons. I actually thing with the round headlights and curves the round combination works better and the square of my year would work better with the facelifted 2009 because of the introduction of angles in the lights and trim.

Steering wheel someone retrofitted a while ago and posted on this forum. I do remember seeing some work done on wiring, because of the buttons not functioning. Search and you'll find for sure.

The NTG 2.5 COMAND units used in the MY2009-MY2012 cars have to be SCN coded (that's MBZ's shorthand for encrypting the car's VIN into the unit's firmware). Because of that, when you put it into a different car, it requires a six-digit unlock code. There are guys over on ******* that can help with that.
