Crackling Cluster Panel Display

Car is in the shop so no pic. I live in Florida. The speedometer and odometer display on 2006 SL500 looks like white crackling, like the heat is flaking a clear coating off. There is a clear plastic guard so nothing got into it unless a chemical of some sort managed to get in? Only Mercedes detailed the car or worked on the car so I don’t know. Is the only fix a replacement? If so, is it easy to DYI and is it plug and play or are there more computer issues or electrical issues to contend with?

Thank you!

NO LONGER ACTIVE
Are you saying the LCD panels are showing white pixels? You can replace them, but it requires disassembling the cluster. Do a forum search for "pink shrimp" and you should find ore info on that problem. You'll also then understand why "pink shrimp" is the search term.
