Replacement Consumer Battery Vent Tube
I'm about to replace the consumer battery in my SL550, and the battery vent tube is missing. The previous owner replaced the consumer battery with a lead acid battery of the wrong size, and I'm assuming he threw away the vent tube when he installed the lead acid battery.
I looked at the Mercedes online catalog, and while they show the vent hose assembly, it is not available for purchase. I found this on Amazon. Will it work?

Yes that should work, nothing complicated about it, I replaced mine just cut to size and make sure there is no kinks as the pipe will go soft if hot gases start to escape from it

I couldn't see why it wouldn't. As you say, it is simple enough.
I did do another search using a different MB online parts source, and was able to find the OEM parts. The parts are cheap enough, but shipping is 3X what the parts cost. If the aftermarket vent kit doesn't work, I'll pick up the vent parts from the local MB dealership.
