Hello Everyone,

A friend of mine got a good deal on a 2003 SL 500. After a few months of no issues, the SBC caught on fire. Luckily, no one was hurt and was limited to the SBC. Check out the pictures below. He picked up a used unit and I'm trying to help him out.

The first picture is the burned unit. The part number is faded. Second picture is the connector to the used replacement. Last picture is the wires from the car.Looks like brake fluid got on the part number so hard to see it.

Here is what we have done so far:

Labeled wires to corresponding pin on connector.

So far label and identified speed sensor. Figured out the 2 in the front. Working on the back. From the car, it looks like the twisted pairs of wires are the speed sensor.

Replacement SBC installed and hard lines connected.

Can anyone help me locate an SBC wiring diagram for the car? The wire colors are different from the car and the connector to the replacement unit.

I did do a search on the forum nut no luck. Also google search yields little info. Maybe my search terms are not specific enough. Any help would be appreciated.

Post the car's VIN so a schematic search can be performed for that particular car. If I have it I'll see about posting it but maybe someone else can beat me to it....
