SL/R230: Discovered crack in the middle of front bottom bumper - solution to avoid replacement

The repair was just a patch over the top, which has now come loose.
Therefore to avoid replacing the whole bumper as you can hardly notice it, I have ordered a front splitter that I will mechanically bolt to the
bumper to hold it all together, it will also give it a nice look too I hope as its the same gloss black as my car !
I will update shortly with photos, attached is what I have bought.

Rivet quantity may vary depending on patch size.
It is not noticeable unless you are on the ground looking up, and it has held up well. Can be patched and painted if desired. I did not patch the SL55.
Did the same for my C32 that hit a deer, but a much more extensive repair on that car. Sample repair pictures of C32 below with Clecos and a couple rivets installed. Was invisible after paint.

nice did you fill it and paint it after?

After repair and professional paint below.
Really miss this AMG as a daily driver...sold to a enthusiast (like me).

I fitted the splitter using 9 x M5 nuts and bolts. The centre 3 spigots didn't quite reach my bumper, so cunningly used rubber door stop bushes that fitted perfect!
All in all took about 1 hour, pleased with the result.
Trying out the splitter to see how she would sit.
Fitted...
Used rubber door stops to reach the bumper, M5 bolts run through the centre to clamp together securely.
