Need help with stalling problem (04 SL500)

I purchased a new SL500 nearly 3 weeks ago and have logged nearly 1200 miles since. While driving to work today, the vehicle stalled while I was exiting the freeway. Could any of you fellow forum members give me any information you've either heard about or experienced with this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

we must have picked up our respective car at the same time, do you have Keyless GO. If yes you may have accidentally touched the OFF button.

otherwise i have not read any recent threads about stalling !

No, I don't have keyless go, as mentioned, the car just died out. I have heard from one other owner, that he's had similar problems with 2 of his SLs, one was bought back by Mercedes after only a few hundred miles, and the 2nd had the problem from the get go and Mercedes still has not determined where the problem lies.

When you say "stalled" do you mean the engine failed after you had come to a stop after exiting the freeway, or did the engine fail while moving at speed? Also, did it restart right away or have to be towed?

I ended up getting rid of my SL55 after a couple engine failures at highway speed. The fuse for the ignition system would blow, causing the engine to lose power. The dealer diagnosed it as faulty “coil packs” which would short out and blow the fuse. Replacing the coil packs didn’t solve the problem in my case, but the fact that they immediately jumped to that diagnosis implies that Mercedes has had problems with failing coils. Perhaps that’s what’s wrong with your car.
