Emergency flashers won' turn off

Got in my 2011 SL550 this morning and the start button did not work. Had a message that said reduce the break effort. It went away after I inserted the key and started the car. Sometime after my getting in the car, the emergency flashers went on and will not turn off. The manual was no help. When I push the button the lights stop blinking for a second and then continue to blink. I am concerned that this will wear down the battery (which one BTW?). Today is Sunday and no repair shop or dealer is open. We moved the car from Texas to Las Vegas and all went very well. Now this. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
First, check your battery voltage. You should have about 12.6v at rest, no less than 11v during cranking, and 14v at idle. Low voltage can cause electrical gremlins. If all of that is good, I'd suspect a problem with the EIS.
