CL Class wheels on a SL550

I'm looking at a set of 18" AMG style wheels for my 07 SL550. he are the split-spoke type, but they are from a W215 (CL class). The fronts are 8.5", and the rears are 9". The width differential fror the rear is not an issue for me, however, the offset might be a problem. These wheels are marked inside with the offset ET44 for both front and rear.

As far as I know, the SL offset is 30 in front and 35 in the rear. Can these wheels be adapted using spacers, or is the difference too much, and I would have vibration or interference issues.

spacers won’t be an issue as long as you get some quality hub centric ones with extended bolts. Biggest issue would be brakes, which I’m not sure the difference in size as non of the models mentioned are AMG so should be good

I use this site to check offset/clearance etc. Gives summary at bottom. Plug in numbers for current setup, and then numbers for what you would like to switch to.

I just did this on my 2003 SL- factory offset is 30 front and 33 rear (8.5 front and 9.5 rear)

Replaced factory AMG wheels with these:

Because of the 44mm offset of the wheels, I needed a 15MM spacer for the front and back. Could have gone 20mm for the rear but 15mm to me is just perfect. For the front spacers and rear spacers you want to get H&R- nothing else- our front hubs have a lip and the hubs you see of amazon/ebay will NOT fit our cars- you will need a spacer for the front that looks like like this:

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-h-and-r-...IaAsIGEALw_wcB

DO NOT BUY SPACERS FOR THE FRONT THAT LOOK LIKE THIS..THEY WILL NOT FIT PROPERLY OVER THE BORE:

https://www.titanwheelaccessories.co...EaAkbHEALw_wcB

H&R Spacer Part # and compatibility list here:

http://www.hrsprings.com/application...esults/25/TRAK

About $200 for all 4 on amazon - google the part # and find the best deal once you decide on which size spacer to go with

Oh yea- I went with 60MM shank lug bolts- make sure you measure correctly- a bolt thats to long will hit your ebrake in the rear and you will hear a ticking noise when driving- not to mention end up doing damage
