SL question

I should start by saying the the SL is the single coolest car I have owned. To have a glass roofed hardtop that drops for open air driving is the best thing since sliced bread!

I recently bought an gorgeous Aston Martin DBS with manual 6sp. Stunning car but not as useful as the SL. I have had SL55amg, SL63amg in both 2013 and 2017.

Now I am thinking 2009 sl63 or 2011-12 SL550. I like the look of the facelift cars and feel like it would be a good fit.

I know disadvantages would be they are heavier, get a bit worse fuel economy. Are there other issues I should watch out for?

thanks

There are issues with the cylinder head bolts on those cars. Affects 2010 and maybe some 2011 cars. Expensive.

Aston Martin , check parts prices and you will get surpriced. About the new model Facelift Sl63 2009 , it has 2 more gears ,and fuel use should be down to as low as ,0,9 liter per 10 km, highway driving where Sl55 use 1,35 liter per 10 km as a minimum. i have both cars ,so i know, the sl63 is more fun in that way that shifting gears in manual mode and sport plus is lightning fast.
