iPOD

Do you know if there is a possibility to link an iPOD system from Apple to our SL500 audio system ? Did somebody tried this ?

If it is possible then this would be a huge improvement versus this CD charger proposed by MB

Umm, auxillary port? Either that, or get the iTrip. Pretty good quality

There is an auxillary port in the glove box. It is on the left side.

ITrip is the way to go. I use my Ipod every day and play it back through Itrip. Itrip is a small transmitter that plays back through the car stereo system. Works great. The Ipod fits into the ash-tray.

I have one too, but the sound quality is pretty bad. Even though you can choose any freqency on the FM band, sound quality really depends on where you live (how many radio stations share the band, that is).

Either way, the radio emulation never comes close to a straight audio connection...

Sorry you do not get such good reception Wolfman. I am in Northern VA and use 87.9. There seems to be no station on that wave length so I have no complaints. I even use that setting to play my iPod though my home stereo. Works great.

I can't seem to find the auxiliary jack. Did they remove it from the '05 or am I blind?

The auxiliary audio source is mention on page 218 in the 2004 COMMAND Operator's Manual. Look for Auxiliary in the index.
