Why is door self locking when closed? (after door panel R&R)
Hi, I've just repaired the power window mechanism (new window regulator cables and plastics etc)., After putting it all back together the (driver) door always locks itself immediately when the car is parked and the door is being closed. If the door is open and unlocked, pushing it to close immediately locks it. Electricity is not needed for it - the door will self-lock even if the trunk batter is disconnected, so it is a combination of the door latch and vacuum which locks the door.
When the remote is used to unlock the car, the door self locks immediately after that as well.
Has anyone experienced it and what would be the reason? Perhaps a pinched vacuum line or something? Thanks!
