I'm in the SF Bay Area and trying to line up resources for the anticipated future ABC work. It's only a matter of time before 20 YO hoses start giving me trouble.
R2Dad, in the SF Bay area I know a shop that I would recommend it's called Mobill Restorations in San Bruno, Bill is the guy, super skilled mechanic and a great guy. I don't know if he's done these ABC hoses before but he is certainly capable. And honest. His brother used to have a Ferrari shop off of Van Ness. They worked on my cars in then late 1980s and they were the best mechanics I had ever seen. I'm living in a different state now (state of shock LoL) and am very lucky to have my local indy shop with the engineer brothers, but I'd consider them right up there along with Bill. If you ever go see Bill tell him Tony sent you.

I will be doing exactly as above, cutting the 10mm hard pipe and getting a new hose made up to join. Since doing these compression repairs have they given anyone any trouble since?
If you get the highest quality splice connectors you can find that are rated for 8000-10,000 PSI there will be no problem. You may even be OK with some that are rated for 6000 PSI. The system runs near 3K PSI so you want connectors rated for twice that pressure.
