5-Loch-Rad Styling K (18" 5 hole design) wheels

I see that the MBUSA website lists 18" 5 hole wheels for about two grand. Apparently the European price is 305-310 euros [596-606 DM) though can't tell if that is per wheel or per pair. These are the same size as the wheels that come with the Sport Package, but have a hole rather than spoke design.

In any event as far as I can tell one simply cannot purchase 18" studded snow tires in the US, and even locating studded snow tires or the non-studded super grip snow alternatives for the standard 17" wheels will likely require special ordering.

Accordingly, it looks like I will still need to have a set of 17" wheels for winter use even if I order the 18" 5 hole wheels. My question is this, does it make more sense to order the vehicle itself to come with the upgraded 18" wheels or simply buy the 18" wheels later?

The other question I have is since I expect to be picking up my SL in Europe this summer is it more economical to get the extra set of wheels - whichever it is- there or to acquire them from the dealer in the US?

I would say it's cheaper if you get your own. Wheels from MB dealers are expensive.
