Missing pipe??

Hello Everyone. I”m hoping someone can identify the component in the attached pic, and also advise if the nozzle on the right hand side of the component should have a pipe connected to it...

Left side rocker cover

Mystery component, unused nozzle circled in red

The location is left side of the M275 engine, under the charge air cooler, attached To the rocker cover by a bracket.
Help would be really appreciated, thanks.

I do not know the answer to your question; nor do I know the solenoid valve pictured. But if I really wanted to know, I would remove the electrical connector to the valve and see if this triggers the Check Engine light. If it does, then you have identified the associated system and can suss whether or not a hose should be connected to the valve. Alternatively, you could just wait for an SL600 owner to check their own car and reply to you.

Thanks for the quick response. My OBDC isn’t showing any fault codes, so that points to it not being an issue. I’ll wait and see if any other sl600 owners reply, and if not, I may try disconnecting it (my only concern is causing damage as a result).

I've answered my own question, so here it is on case anyone else was wondering...
After trawling through the 8113 page repair manual, it turns out to be Y31/5 Boost Pressure Control Pressure Transducer, and the open port is there to reference ambient air pressure to feed back into the system, depending on altitude.
