722.9 transmission error code 062F

Hello all,

on my 09 SL550, while running routine checking with Xentry I found that Transmission Control module failed with the following code: 062F, VGS is defective. Digging further, Xentry suggested that if no complaints observed, this code can be deleted. Since I did not experience anything abnormal in shifting, I deleted the code. Does anyone have any experience or information about this? Could it be the sign of potential problems with conductor plate? The car has only 37k miles and had transmission service a few months ago. Thank you!

Hi
  1. this is a "STORED" fault. erease drive a bit and see if it reproduces
  2. on the right side of your Xentry, you see a little sign
You don't need to "dig" when you see this you can use the same sign button below and get info what the fault means and tests.
start with that, conductor plate is easy to change
also if Xentry tells you "if no complaints observed, this code can be deleted" there is nothing to worry about
Always attempt upgrade the trans software first, I upgraded lots of SL's, upgrades are there to correct bugs and optimize (same as on Windows). screens below

Many modules often have upgrades available, even MB maintained as they are too lazy to do this on maintenance

good luck

Special note for beginners:
We can see here that even on a older car, where Xentry is using his integrated DAS part as a plugin (here version 7.7.2.1) but when you update firmware you can see it's using "Xentry Flash"
This system's name is Xentry, Old vintage systems users before Xentry got released may call it Das

Older systems do not have the databases later than their release and must not be used for cars later then it's release
This is not a matter of if it worked here and there, these are the basics of Xentry (on your own risk, you have been warned)

I am guessing the controller recognizes that one of the transmission's operating parameters is out of range, and it is affecting the transmission in some minor way. As the DAS message says, if there is no complaint, i.e., you don't notice anything abnormal, then the code can be ignored.

I also guess confidently that in no way does this portend future problems.
