You have plenty of time too wait for the trans temp to come up since it's cooler is in the radiator it kinda rises with engine temp.
Might I suggest adding a drain plug to the new pan so when you change oil you can drain out the pan fluid without messing with the original drain which has the plastic pieces that gives us the correct level.
I did this to mine and all able to change around 4-5 stab if trans fluid every oil change or so. I'm hoping it'll help the transmission last as long as possible.
