Tips on removing instrument cluster trim 03-08 models
In case someone is searching for this in the future, the instrument cluster trim is very easy to remove without damaging any of the trim tabs.
This procedure requires ZERO tools, if you try to use tools, you will probably break something.
If you have an 09+ model, disregard this, your design is different.
Step 1) open the drivers door completely and stand outside of the car. Press firmly with your thumb as shown ON THE DASHBOARD, NOT ON THE TRIM while using your other hand to tilt the trim in a downwards direction towards the steering wheel. See arrow “B”
Step 2) Press with your index finger directly on the instrument panel as shown with your finger covering the end of the needle. It’s necessary to press pretty hard. You will hear the trim release. It might be necessary to gently pull the trim towards you while doing this. Then repeat the exact same steps for the gas gauge side.
Step 3) Tilt the trim further towards you until it comes completely loose and then pull upwards on it. Watch for the two small tabs at the very bottom of the trim.
