Knock noise when accelerating
2003 Sl500
Hi,
Hope all is well. Yesterday I noticed a "do do do" noise when accelerating. Each time I stepped on the gas to accelerate (0-20mph, 20 to 40mph etc) you can here something going "do do do do do do"- if I remember correctly, it was only when I accelerated "hard"- noise was not apparent if I did slow soft acceleration
I had my engine mounts replaced last year( genuine parts). I've only put about 3,000/4,000 miles on the car since. I have an appointment to drop the car off on Monday- I'm thinking tranny mount or flex disk
Ideas? Thanks

So the knock noise went away after I made this post- I was ok for about week or two until I heard it again when accelerating driving home on Xmas eve. I took the car in today to my mechanic and we examined the flex disk. The one connected to the tranny had some very minor cracks around where the screws were. The rear disk looked good but I decided while were doing one, lets do the other. Engine mounts looked fine and were replaced about a year ago.
The question is should we go genuine mercedes or after market flex disks? He said he can get high quality close to OEM for about $100 a disk. Genuine will run me around $210
