What is the difficulty of connecting a video camera for reversing?

Hello everybody!
I asked an auto electrician to install forward and reverse video cameras with an automatic switching switch and a monitor. At the same time, I gave him all the necessary instruments. But he says the installation cost in MB SL500 will be four times more expensive than in a regular car due to the difficulty of connecting video cameras. Tell me please, is it really such a difficult job that the price is four times more expensive?
The point is, he doesn't want to explain what the problem is.
Thank you for understanding

ok
so a standalone system
Well, then there is no reason to charge you 4x the price as that system must just be hooked up to the reverse wire on the stock radio in order to startup
Then there is a little more work to run the lines to the back but more then 20% on the top of standard price for installation of a standalone aftermarket product is not justified

I had my Comand monitor modified to display a Back Up video system from a TV camera installed over my rear license plate. The Comand system modification was done by a vendor and the installation was done by a local auto stereo installer.

Here is the thread from that installation https://mbworld.org/forums/cl-class-...eo-system.html

Good luck but don't pay too much for the job.

Thanks for the complete answer. But I think it will be easier and cheaper to replace the team multimedia system with the Android OS. It costs up to $ 400 and already has all the necessary options.
