Airbag questions
Hello all,
This may be a silly question... but I would rather ask before... as opposed to after.
I have removed the seats for my 2005 SL500 for carpet cleaning as well as some repair.
I need to put the top up partially to remove a part.... and maybe move the car.
I just wanna make sure that having the airbags unhooked in the seats is not gonna triggerr something and set off any airbags that are still connected.
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Im convinced you'll trip a warning. I have a 2005 car and get an intermittent airbag warning from a yellow plug connection into the underneath of the seat. When I reseat the plug and clear the codes stays away for a few months then comes back.
Look under your seat, does it have a yellow plug that you opened to remove the seat? If so I think you'll probably trip a code when you start the car with seat unplugged. Its not a big problem though, the code is easily cleared down.

Talked to a contact at MB. He is saying there is a good chance the system could be triggered with things unplugged and starting the car.
Not worth the risk!!
I can clear the errors.... just don't want air bags deploying.
