I am going to be replacing the middle gearbox mount next week to make things smoother, i've done this mount on my CLK but thought i'd ask if there are any things needed to know?
Thanks
Thanks
I just did mine, with the engine mounts on my SL500.
The rear mount is easy. Safety first!
Would you put your dog under there with you? That's the test.
Get the car up on blocks or ramps and get your mechanic's creeper and slide under. Jack up the transmission just enough so that you see it move a MM or two. That takes the weight off the mount.
I didn't torque any of the bolts - instead I tightened them a fraction first so I could feel the torque they came with. Use your judgement. Don't forget to replace the earth strap.
It's all standard 13 or 16 or 17 mm bolts - can't remember.
Go for it!
