Looking to get rims fixed, after the scratches are fixed is it better to have them painted or powder coated, I read powder coating damages the rim. Also has anyone decided instead of rims being repainted they had the rims polished. I understand polished rims look nice, hope someone can post pictures of my rims polished
Almost any new car dealer (not only MB) will have a mobile wheel repair service on-site a couple of times each week. These guys do an amazing job, usually under $100 per wheel. It's just a matter of time before we all get some kind of road rash. I have cars with polished wheels and painted wheels; I'm really fussy. Never been disappointed when wheels have been refinished on site.

I prefer paint over powdercoat, it's easier to repair. Powdercoat really can't be repaired properly if curbed again. Powdercoat has it's place, for example the center section of a multipiece wheel,or if you want a unique finish like the powdercoat polished aluminium look.
Maybe, but temperatures aren't really that high, I don't think. On the other hand, there doesn't seem to be any question that chrome plating does weaken the wheel.
