SL/R230: R230 won’t start or crank

R230 won’t start or crank
Seems to happen after it rains but not sure since sometimes it rains and no issue. Car is driven daily. For the past month when I turn the key, or keyless go start (doesn’t matter which method I use) sometimes nothing happens, then after a second or third try it fires up.
This always happens in the morning. Had a huge rain storm in Tampa and the next day, the car doesn’t start. Everything works electrically. Nothing on the dash indicating any problem. You can hear everything has plenty of power, lights, locks, everything works.
Called AAA, they said both batteries passed all is good. Called Mercedes Roadside Assistance and they said batteries good and to tow it to them, however, they are backed up with cars so it will be there awhile.
I called a Mobile Mechanic who stated they can test. He went underneath the car and said he tried to hard wire power to the starter and it would not turn over. He put whatever tester he had and said that there is a CAN module failure. I tried to search this matter out and it’s disjointed the information online. I saw a video about pulling a fuse, swapping relays and I’m more confused with information overload and no two informations are lining up.
Can someone walk me through how I can check some things out? I have hardly any tools. My car is for sale and the last thing I want is to throw thousands into it.
