SOS "visit workshop" message

When I bought my 03 SL55 amg 3 years ago, the carphone that was part of the selected options was missing. It looked like it was removed by a bunch of hacks but since it wasn't important to me I overlooked it.
What I can't seem to eliminate, however is the annoying message on the display that shows an outline of an old phone receiver with SOS and visit workshop. I can't seem to find a solution.
Does anyone have any suggestions or fixes for this issue?
Thanks

It gets a bit complicated because the Teleaid module is part of the fiber loop. I recommend unplugging or pulling the fuse for the Teleaid module, loop the fiber around it, update Command to the new fiber configuration, and recode the ICM to Teleaid Not Present.

thanks for this - I initially thought a white “📞SOS - Visit Workshop” was related to my other issues,
but this helps a lot.

In my center console the wires for the phone have been cut - and removed. Looks like I’ll be following this advice next. Thanks again.

Open your arm rest, 2 torx screws at back. Lift up rear centre trim from front and it will come out. the teleaid unit often sits underneath it. Unplug the module, buy a fibre loop and bypass £6.
