Hydraulic Hallucinations

Thank you friends for always being accommodating with my problems. I'm experienced with diagnosing and replacing cylinders in my 2003 R230. I have access to a DAS.

I can't find my leak, but I've lost damn near a quart of hydraulic fluid (refilled now). I replaced the top latches about 10 years ago, the smaller side latches and the trunk lid lift about 2 years ago. Of course I'm paranoid it's the roof latches again (some lingering PTSD there) but I see no signs anywhere, no drips lining the roof panel, no signs in the trunk.

I think it might be the roll bar, but I have no idea. Not idea where to look on that one, but have been keeping a look out in that rear passenger fuse/relay box area.

Any hints are greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Quintin

I wonder even if that cilinder is profusely leaking, if you'll find oil in the trunk. You'd have to remove some interior liner to know for sure all is well in there (or if there's a well, if you know what I mean).

Thank you. Agree, it looks like if it were leaking that it would pool in that pocket in which it sits. I might see if one of those few hard plastic scrape/rock guards under the car could be pooling some fluid.

I’ve taken those panels off before when I did a whole sound system upgrade. Wasn’t too bad. Of course being 20 years old it seems like every time I pull off something to access something deeper I end up breaking a few of those parts required to make the journey.

Thank you.
