Flatstoppers

Anyone using flatstoppers to help eliminate flat spots on tires during winter storage? If so, any good?

I’m in Southern Maine and I’ve used them on my previous SL (R129) they worked fine with no issues. Fill with air, drive on. Currently use a set of Dollies with my R230, once it’s parked it sits until it thaws (dirt road livin)

2005 R 230 SL350 (M112 3.7). Sold the 1966 W113 230SL recently
Pieces of sturdy carpet seem to do the job pretty well.

For my W113 (Pagoda) I used carpet tiles with some kind of jute/rubber compound base.Tough material, never noticed any flat spots after winter. That said, my cars haven't been inactive that long any more, as we haven't had long winters for years. As long as there's no salt on the roads, I drive it. I also read that eventual flat spots quickly disappear, when driving your treasure. During the last winters my R230 has been sitting on concrete with regular tyre pressure. Never had a problem. Come to think of it, shifting the car by hand, half a meter or so, is said to be possibly beneficial for your differential gears, as it would 're-oil' them. But I doubt whether it would make any difference inside that magic box.

Yes they do a very similar job as the race ramps, when I moved down the dirt road the dollies help to dissuade the casual drive during mud season. It takes about 20-30 min to get the car on the ground.
