Oh! Damn the wait...
I received "the collection" and on page 43 what do I see?
"Unwrap the new SL Class 2002..."
I go on the internet to find one - None exsists - so I call 1 800 MERC. I order one, guess what? They are out of stock. "We will not charge your credit card till we ship one out to you , sir."
Okay, so when do you think you will be getting them in? - "Well, we dont know sir."
I am just venting - I cannot even get a Replica to put on my desk
Most likely I will get the real deal before this one arrives....By the way A question to fellow enthusiasts...
What colour do you think best suits the car?
I have had three blk/blk mercedes till now and a fourth one seems a stretch. The interiors seem to look best in blk, you really can't see the cheap parts with the blk. My Opinion.

i'd vote for silver also (for tradition's sake). unless they have some unique color.
what cheap parts are you talking about? for that kind of money, i don't expect any hint of cheapness!

My personal preference forthe new SL would be the color... black!
Having seen it in person in black, I would choose black over silver.
To me silver looks kind of dull and washed out.
I know that Mercedes has a tradition with the silver arrow, but remember that color was not the color of the paint but of the body!

they have that R230 SL 1:18 scale model for 24.99 at www.exoticar.com; it is the same one as the one they use at mercedes. actually, you can get almost any model they sell in the collection from them. I order cars from there at least once a month.
