Advice on painting interior trim
Hi all and Happy New Year.
I have a “berry red” interior and need to replace a couple of plastic seat trim parts in this colour. I’ve been watching the normal sources for second hand parts for a long time and nothing has come up.
Im now thinking about sourcing the parts but in a different colour (I’ve seen lots like this) and then spray painting to match. Anybody ever done this?
Im looking for advice on how feasible? Type of paint to use, any special priming techniques or primers needed etc etc…….
Thoughts?

I've done alot on different cars/trucks it works great. Google mercedes interior dye. light coats. its not paint so light coats. dries fast.
I've also brought material to my local auto paint supply store and the color matched it.

The two best paints for interior plastic parts (including flexible parts) are SEM and Krylon Fusion. SEM comes in a large variety of colors while Fusion has about 10 or so. I find Fusion much easier to use if you can find a decent color match. However, most OEM trim parts are molded in color so they resist scratches and wear much better.
