SL/R230: Scanner not communicating with ECU
I'm not able to get Ohio E-check because they can't communicate with my ECU through my DLC (my scanners are also unable to communicate with my car). When I plug my scanner into the DLC, the scanner does illuminate. I nevertheless checked both fuses for "diag plug". The fuses are fine. I checked the female DLC connectors with a paper clip to ensure that the openings are tight. They are. I checked for continuity on both sides of the DLC - all 8 connectors have continuity on both sides. Both batteries are less than a year old and are fully charged. With ignition "on" the SEL illuminates. After starting engine, the SEL extinguishes. Car runs properly. No warning lights. No wires have been cut, spliced, or modified (that I can see).
If I could get hold of a wiring diagram perhaps I would be able to check for continuity from the DLC wires to wherever those wires go (presumable the ECU). Anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram?
Any ideas concerning what I ought to do next?
