2005 SL500
Command system - no audio
Hi,
I have a 2005 SL500. Australian compliance.
Its happened a couple of times now the command system is working but no sound for the radio or the telephone connection.
The visual display is okay, just no audio.
Then later that day turn it on and working fine. A few days later no audio again.
Has anyone had that problem. Or knows the probably cause.

When this happened to me, I disconnected the auxiliary battery in the trunk for 30 seconds and reconnected- audio started to work.
But for you it may be a bigger issue where a component is failing (audio gateway, cd changer, amp etc) and since the fiber network is all connected together, when one component fails, the whole system goes down (cd changer for example). You need to find which component is faulty
to troubleshoot you need a fiber optic bypass adapter
