SL350 2005 door speaker wiring

I am installing new door speakers in my SL350 2005.

The old standard 3 speaker system (not Bose or HK) has been replaced with Steg SG650 6.5 inch speaker and tweeter.

There were 4 wires going to the old speakers - (red & brown + red - ) plus (green & black + green -)

Which wires do I connect to the crossover? Do I connect the 2 +'s together and the 2 -'s together for the inputs? Or is there some other arrangement?

Many thanks

For those of you that might be interested I joined the two +'s and the 2-'s and put them into the input side of the crossover. ( I did get cold feet before turning on and phoned Homesdale Audio who confirmed it was ok)

I am really impressed with the results from the Steg speakers but have to say it was not a 5 minute job with plenty of rethinking.

The 6.5 inch speaker was moved as close to the tweeter as possible and used a 30mm speaker spacer on top of a 5mm base plate to the pod. This meant that the speaker was closer to the grill and not so shrouded by the pod.

The tweeter was mounted where the small mid range used to be mounted on a mdf plate that filled the hole left by removing the small mid range.

The crossover was mounted beside the pod - it's a big crossover 120mm long! I did wonder if I would be able to get it to fit.

Was it worth the effort - Yes.
