Looking for New Plastic Covers

Hi, all, it’s time to get my 230 Roadster ready for Spring season. Has anyone replaced the left & right black plastic trim covers beside rear window? My covers are heavily weathered and very noticeable after washing car. Do I need to replace or has someone found a cleaver way to refinish. Would appreciate assistance.

I did a vinyl wrap on mine. Came out OK - definitely better than before, but not as good as new. If you decide to wrap yours, be sure to first sand them completely smooth. Mine had the gloss black finish flaking off. Even though I got any loose flakes off with a minor sanding, I left some of the finish on the panels and so the edges where the finish remains can be seen in the vinyl wrap.

I went ahead and bought new ones, haven't installed them yet. They're pretty easy to install, just haven't got around to it yet. Paid about $90 each.

Part numbers are 230-792-03-30 (left) and 230-792-04-30 (right).

I bought mine from Mercedes Benz of Covington, Louisiana (https://www.mbofcovington.com/parts/order-parts.htm). They've got some of the lowest prices I've found online and aren't terribly far from me so shipping cost is reasonable. I don't know if they'll ship to Canada, though.

Appreciate the information especially the part numbers, I also have a Florida address I can use, there are some Snow Bird friends of mine that can bring parts up to Canada at the end of the month. Once again appreciate your help.

I had mine repainted by a body shop for $100. Did on and off myself with simple body tools.

Thanks for the tip, yesterday I spent a good time trying to order a new set. Other than Naples FLa, who only had the right side no one in USA & Canada had any even Germany was out. Appreciate the response

*edit*
The info given below, by me, is false. I thought the o.p. was referring to the exterior A-pillar covers.

According to WIS you have to make sure whether your car has the 'long' or 'short' version of these parts. There is supposed to be a designation L or S on the inside. When I had minor paint damage (scuffing) fixed I should have ordered a respray of those covers. As a side job I guess it would have been a minor extra.

No, because as I wrote in #8 I was dumb enough to forget about them when I took the car in for a minor accident damage.

I just painted mine in situ, mask up the edges and rub down with 240 grit. then spray with colour of car and seal with clear coat. You can then polish them. Look great and only takes 30 mins

Thanks for sharing, your car looks great. The paint idea is getting to be the number one solution given the clear breakdown of the clear coar finish.

My trim is plastic, did you have same type of trim?

Go
mine looked just likes these. if you mask up the edge use an orbital sander or by hand to remove the remaining clear coat and provide a smooth keyed surface. then on a nice day spray with Obsidian Black, leave 10 mins do another coat, leave 15 mins do another and then add your clear coat. Polish out with compound to give a glossy look ! Easy !

According to Mercedes US & Canada there non in NA with no ETA being promised from Germany. During my research I did manage to find 1 ( 230-792-03-30) in Naples Florida. That was back in early March.
my plan is to try and restore thru some detailing methods (cutting & polishing) if unsuccessful last resort paint.

should you come across some inventory please post.

best of luck
