Intake Manifold Replacement
Hey guys, i had a p-2004 code with white smoke and took the car to the dealer, they found out that manifold need to be replaced (due to broken actuator) - 2500$ and some minor transmission leak, another 800$.
anyone know of good, reliable mechanic in the DFW area that provides more sane prices?

I am also having the same actuator problem on my 08, A new manifold cost around $700-800 on fcpeuro and rowlet motorwerks quoted me like 4hrs of work at like $135 an hour. I opted change the actuator myself since it’s really not too difficult, but it is a pain bc the intake needs to come off to change it. I bought a $30 metal arm replacement that I’m going to use to replace the old plastic one. The intake was one of several
issues mine had (abc ride height sensor went out ). I haven’t gone to any other shops and I try to
do most of the work on my car myself. I’ve used these guys for a few years to maintain my x5 mostly oil changes. The work is okay and as far as shops they have been mostly good, Im in garland so it’s not too far from me up near the George bush tollway.
