Anyone have any info on a replacement shift boot for an 2005 R230 automatic?

It comes as an assembly with the shifter knob.

Item #24 in this parts catalog listing.

It's not cheap in any case, but if your knob has wood trim, you'll really want to hang on to your wallet

 

Yes, Mercedes only sells them with the knob. and some are VERY pricey. I normally buy Mercedes parts at a different shop, but they don't list any for less than $199 https://www.mbdirectparts.com/oem-pa...UtNWwtdjgtZ2Fz

Some knob colors (berry-red in my case) are no longer available, so I had to send mine to the "far east" to be recovered.

HOWEVER, if all you need is the boot, you may want to consider this ...

I would have likely bought one of these boots myself, but I bought a used knob with boot on ebay SO I could have a shift knob while mine was being recovered overseas (the EBAY knob/boot was reasonably priced at $100 WITH good keyless-go switch AND the boot was in good condition)

As a follow up, I installed my refurbished Shift knob w/boot yesterday. DCT Motorsports did some top quality work as usual : )
