SL/R230: Is the Power Steering fluid the same as the ABC fluid?

Is the Power Steering fluid the same as the ABC fluid?
I am getting conflicting information. The owners manual sez MB Hyd fluid for the ABC and Pentosin CHF 11S for the power steering. But other sites say CHF 11S for the ABC?

Different fluids were used at the factory when these cars were built (PS fluid is yellow whereas the ABC fluid is green).
At some point, the hydraulic fluid for the ABC system (Pentosin CHF-11S) was determined by MB to be a suitable PS fluid for these applications.
It is backwards-compatible and safe to use in the PS steering system. If the fluid in your PS system is the original yellow fluid and you are changing to CHF-11S, I would recommend two rounds of fluid exchange for peace of mind.
