Question for those that have rebuilt their own valve blocks...............
This is for those that did it themselves.
How or what did you do to keep from mangling the white o-ring keeper? We use the same thing in the military acft industry and they are a royal PITA. More often than not they get cut/bent/crushed/torn when trying to get them to go together.
What did you do other than using copious amounts of oil to get them to stay in place when installing the valves in the block?

I include a PTFE synthetic grease - in my kits. It is dense enough to hold the backing rings. Ideal would be to use solid rings and shrink them on, but the tool cost would pretty much put it out of the DIY realm (too many different sizes). The teflon rings don't have a sealing function like they do on a transmission input shaft, so split rings do function fine once installed.
