SL/R230: "Exclusive" branded leather..?
"Exclusive" branded leather..?
Good morning, friends. Some Mercedes models are furnished with "Exclusive" leather interiors. Can anyone explain what this branding delivers vs, presumably, standard leather seating..?
thank you

As I have understood it, "Leather Exclusive" stands for an all leather dashboard with real stiching (not the plastic look-a-like dash with fake stiching), and the same goes for the door panels.
Then I think that alcantara head liner and alcantara speedometer-covers are included in "Leather Exclusive". At least I have never seen one without the other.

I know with a lot of cars, a "leather interior" package means that the seating surfaces and some of the other interior surfaces that are often touched are leather, but everything else - like the seat backs, lower sides of the seat cushions, etc. - is matching vinyl. I don't know how much of what looks like leather in a standard SL is real or vinyl, but I do know that in my SL there is no fake leather whatsoever - anything that looks like leather is the real stuff.
So...curious...what are differences among "Designo", "Exclusive", and standard leather...?
are any of them semi-aniline....higher quality..?
Interesting to understand what the branding delivers ..?
