SL/R230: 2004 sl55 amg troubleshooting

2004 sl55 amg troubleshooting
Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my post. I am a new R230 owner and have two issues I could use some advice on.
#1 This one to me is strange. With the stereo off (or on) I get a high pitched feedback squeal coming from the passenger door speaker. If I turn the rear defroster on, the squealing stops. It immediately starts back up once the rear defroster is disengaged, either manually or by timing out. My solution at this point is to continuously run the rear defroster. This one stumps me. (Drivers side door speaker doesn't work, possibly related?)
#2 The supercharger stops working intermittently. Works well for awhile then quits working and then will work again. My best guess is the O/C pump but possibly a waste gate problem?
Any advice/ideas would be most appreciated!
