Just in time for our nice spring weather, my SL was knocked off the blocks in storage and pushed about two feet forward by someone driving through the garage door. The car had been stored since November with all batteries unhooked and propped up on blocks to stop the suspension from dropping. Needless to say, when the car went through the garage door, it knocked the car forward off the blocks, left a 2 foot skid mark and pushed the car into a wall at front of the garage. The person who drove through the door had just fixed their brakes, but did not to a very good job!
Aside from a bumper that needs to be repainted and replacing one of the bumper corners, does anyone have other thoughts on what hidden damage there could be?
This should be a lesion I should have taken it out of storage and been driving it!
I wouldn't worry about putting it up on blocks while storing it. It will just sink to the stops, then raise when you turn on the car and drive off (or in N with your foot off the brake).
That's what most of us live with anyway and even from new some sagging will be expected after a week or two.
As far as any other damage - probably nothing - you've just gone for a little skid on a polished concrete floor.
