High Mileage 2009-2011 SL550
Looking into buying my first SL and I have decided upon the SL550 from 2009-2011
Do cars with 80-100K+ miles suffer from anything major?
I was initially looking into buying a high mileage SL63 2009 but after seeing how much the M156 suffers from - I am thinking of simplifying and sticking to the 550
Thanks

I have had my 09 SL550 for 2 years. Now has 76K miles. 71 when I bought it. Before purchase I ran a Carfax and AutoCheck. Then called the service departments listed that last serviced the car. This gave me the confidence to buy it along with the impression I got that the seller was forthright with answers to my questions. I have had no issues during my ownership and very happy with it. I am also the 6th owner of the car. I considered an SL63 which is a beast of a car, but I find that the SL550 has more than enough power to satisfy my needs.

Hi -
Back in an SL after having jumped (leaped?) over to a Jaguar XK for about eight years.
One thing I'm remembering: it is well, well worth the money with these cars to find a good indie mechanic (I also like good MBZ dealership service, don't hate), and have EVERY fluid changed:
oil + filter
transmission + filter
brake fluid
power steering/abc
coolant (full flush)
Why? Even if it's been changed recently (and are you sure?), there's a dollar value to the peace of mind. Plus, moving forward you can set your own fluid change schedule.
