AC Issue

A friend has a SL500 2004 AC blowing cold. Suddenly it stops. Blower is on. Coolant was removed and re charged. Low side normal High side 120psi Dash light flashing red. Does need Xentry DAS or a new compressor. He is a newbie and thinks he needs a new compressor. Any thoughts of diagnosis or simple trouble trouble shooting before he goes forward. Thanks for the expertise in advance Gene

If the refrigerant is allowed to go low pressure, like vacuuming and re-charging, then the AC will need re-setting using a Mercedes specific diagnostic scanner.

You also need diagnostics to investigate issues with compressor, as it is a Clutch-less type using variable displacement and a PWM control signal. If your mate doesn't know what any of that means, then he cant diagnose a faulty compressor

Try resetting the codes first, should fire up afterwards.
