2003 sl500

I love my 2003 sl500 when its not in the shop.my shop i try to do all the work on my car that i can.three times so far i orderd after market upper control arms because the ball joints are bad.they keep sending me control arms that are about an inch too wide and after three times i am at a standstill.has anyone had the same problem?

Which brand have you tried? The Delphi TC1490/TC1491 appears to be miscataloged and is actually an E-Class arm. I'm sure that there are some private labels or brands that 'borrowed' Delphi's cataloging as well. Check the buyers guide or application guide on the part. If the list includes any 211/219's, it is the E-Class part and will not fit the R230's.

You have the early version, which are harder to find and don’t have replaceable ball joints. They are sending you the later versions. It may be a Mercedes only part,
