SL/R230: P0730 Incorrect Gear Ratio

P0730 Incorrect Gear Ratio
Hi all, My 2007 R230 40k miles, has a permanent code P0730, Incorrect Gear Ratio. When I Google it, it gives all kinds of scary potential issues from low fluid to worst case scenario, fill in the blank. There are no performance issues that I can see, feel or hear. Mechanic says don't worry about it for the moment. There is a small leak. He says let's service it and see what happens. I appreciate that he does not want to go looking for ghosts. Your thoughts and comments, please. Thank you!

Check YouTube for videos on how to remove the conductor plate and clean the screens on the solenoids. I would do that and a transmission fluid change at the same time. Actually, you MUST do the change at that time because you are removing the tranny pan to get to the conductor plate. Just put a new filter in when you put stuff back together.
